Joan J. Lee

Joan J. Lee is a dedicated attorney who focuses on helping clients manage debt-related challenges with care and professionalism. Joan began her academic journey at Duluth High School in Georgia. She earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Georgia State University in 2016. In 2023, she received her J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law, along with an Advocacy Skills Certificate recognizing her commitment to litigation training and legal advocacy.

Joan gained valuable experience while studying law by participating in various activities and clinics. She served as vice president of the First-Generation Professionals student organization and contributed to the Mock Trial Council. Joan also competed in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court and worked on real cases through the Project for Innocence and Post-Conviction Remedies.

Joan built a strong foundation for her legal career by serving as a judicial intern for Judge D. Crabtree at the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. She also worked at a Kansas City firm as a law clerk, focusing on insurance defense and personal injury defense. This experience sharpened her litigation skills before she transitioned to bankruptcy law.

Joan holds a license to practice law in Missouri and has admission to the U.S. District Courts for the Western District of Missouri and the District of Kansas. She is a member of The Missouri Bar, American Bankruptcy Institute, Kansas City Bankruptcy Bar Association, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
