Jo Massey is a dedicated Workers’ Compensation Attorney committed to securing fair outcomes for injured workers across Kansas. Since joining Slape & Howard in 2020, she has built a strong track record of negotiating favorable settlements, drafting persuasive legal briefs, and presenting compelling arguments at hearings. Jo graduated with Dean’s Honors from Washburn University School of Law in 2020. She earned her undergraduate degree in International Business and Economics from Fort Hays State University, where she also competed on the inaugural women’s soccer team. Her academic achievements and competitive drive provide a strong foundation for her legal career.

In addition to her litigation work, Jo contributes to the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association journal, writes on workers’ compensation issues, and lobbies the Kansas legislature on behalf of injured workers. As a Board of Governor for New Trial Lawyers, she represents Kansas attorneys with less than ten years of practice, amplifying the voices of newer practitioners in the legal community.
