Eric Derleth

Eric Derleth has dedicated his career to protecting Alaskans facing criminal charges and personal injury claims. Known as “the Trial Guy,” he focuses on defending clients against powerful opponents, whether government prosecutors or large corporations, and represents individuals across Alaska, including Anchorage, Palmer, Wasilla, Juneau, and Fairbanks.

Eric earned his University of Alaska Anchorage, B.A. with honors (1992) before completing his J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School in 1995 at age 25. As a founding member of the Alaska Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and a member of the Alaska Trial Lawyers, he maintains strong professional connections that strengthen his advocacy for clients throughout the state.

Eric’s trial work is rooted in meticulous preparation and strategic communication. His approach has resulted in numerous dismissals before trial and complete victories in all his murder trials, including a rare case where a jury returned three “innocent” verdicts.
