Leigh Ann Bauer

Leigh Ann Bauer has built a respected career as a dedicated trial attorney, representing clients in complex criminal defense matters, including DUI and OUI cases. Leigh earned her Bachelor of Arts in History and German Literature with honors from the University of California – Santa Barbara in 1985. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California, in 1991. Her education also included a year abroad in 1984 at the Gymnasium Mussenredder in Hamburg, Germany.

Leigh launched her legal career in Alaska with a clerkship for a Superior Court Judge, then spent five years as a dedicated public defender. During this time, she handled a wide range of criminal cases, sharpening her trial advocacy skills and gaining a deep, practical understanding of the criminal justice system. She later built a practice focused on criminal defense, family law, and personal injury, allowing her to effectively represent clients facing complex and high‑stakes legal challenges.

Leigh’s work has reached national audiences, including her appearance as co-counsel on the CBS program 48 Hours for the high-profile Bonnie Craig murder case. Her dedication extends beyond the courtroom, reflected in her memberships with the Alaska Criminal Defense Lawyers, Alaska Academy of Trial Lawyers, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the National College of DUI Defense.
