Jimmie M. Edwards

Judge Jimmie M. Edwards has built a respected legal career through decades of service in litigation, government, and education matters. He spent many years serving the St. Louis community through leadership roles connected to public safety and the judicial system. His work has focused on helping families, children, and underserved individuals through fair legal guidance and community-centered programs.

Jimmie earned a Bachelor of Arts from Saint Louis University in 1978 before completing a J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1981. His educational background helped shape a career centered on justice, legal advocacy, and mentorship. He later received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Saint Louis University and Eden Theological Seminary in 2014.

Jimmie served on the 22nd St. Louis Judicial Circuit Court from 1992 through 2017, spending significant time as Administrative Judge of the Family Court and Chief Juvenile Court Judge. Earlier in his career, he practiced law in St. Louis and also worked in corporate and public legal positions. His experience includes handling litigation, juvenile justice matters, and public agency issues.

Jimmie also founded the Innovative Concept Academy, a program created to support at-risk teenagers in St. Louis. The school gained national attention for its work helping young people facing difficult personal and educational challenges. His efforts to improve juvenile justice and community safety earned recognition from legal, educational, and civic organizations across the country.
