Jill M. Manning

Jill M. Manning is the founder of The Manning Law Firm and a nationally recognized litigator and mediator with nearly three decades of experience in complex litigation. She focuses her practice on antitrust, unfair business practices, and class action cases, representing individuals, businesses, and employers harmed by anticompetitive conduct. She is known for successfully litigating landmark cases under federal and state antitrust laws and has achieved hundreds of millions in recoveries for her clients.

Ms. Manning earned her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law (1995) and her B.A. from the University of California, Davis (1991). She also studied at Cambridge University, Pembroke College, in 1990.

Ms. Manning has served as lead or co-lead counsel in several nationally watched class action lawsuits. She represents over 3 million California businesses and consumers in Sidibe v. Sutter Health, where the Ninth Circuit reversed a jury verdict and revived antitrust claims tied to inflated healthcare premiums. She also helped secure $284 million in settlements in the Broiler Chicken Antitrust Litigation and over $111 million in the ongoing Pork Antitrust Litigation. The court recognized her work in the $1.08 billion TFT-LCD Antitrust Litigation for her leadership and document strategy.

Ms. Manning has led high-impact cases including Grace v. Apple Inc., Senne v. Office of the Commissioner of Baseball (resulting in a $185 million settlement), and Facebook v. Saverin. She currently serves on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in nationwide concussion litigation against the NCAA, helping shape strategy and outcomes for injured student-athletes.

Ms. Manning is admitted to practice in California, multiple U.S. District Courts, the Second and Ninth Circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court. She is active in many professional organizations and serves on the Board of Directors for the California Lawyers Association. She formerly chaired the Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law Section and co-chairs the annual “Celebrating Women in Competition Law” event.
