Jennifer Bretz

Jennifer Bretz is a family law attorney with Arons & Solomon Divorce Lawyers in Hackensack and has more than 20 years of legal practice. She concentrates on matrimonial and family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, domestic violence, division of assets, parental relocation, prenuptial agreements, and post-divorce conflict. Her work includes motions, trials, mediations, arbitrations, and post-judgment hearings for clients facing contested family and financial issues.

Bretz earned a J.D. with Honors from Rutgers School of Law and a B.A. with Honors and Distinction from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. She studied business with a concentration in marketing as an undergraduate and graduated with highest academic honors. At Rutgers, she served as Business Editor of the Rutgers Law Journal and published work in the journal. She also received training through the Bankruptcy Pro Bono Project.

Bretz began her legal career with a judicial clerkship for Judge Amy Piro Chambers and later worked at Beattie Padovano, LLC, where she gained experience in civil litigation, commercial and residential real estate, trusts and estates, land use, insurance defense, collections, and condominium law. She later concentrated primarily on marital dissolution, support, custody, domestic violence, and other family matters and joined Arons & Solomon in 2008.

Jennifer Bretz is a certified mediator and serves clients through litigation and alternative dispute resolution. She volunteers with the Bergen County Early Settlement Panel and has held leadership in the Collaborative Divorce Organization for Northern New Jersey. Her broad earlier civil practice and long family-law concentration support representation in disputes involving children, finances, property, support, domestic violence, and post-judgment enforcement.
