Eric J. Aretsky

Eric J. Aretsky is co-founder and managing partner of Aretsky Law Group, P.C., with decades of experience in divorce and family law. He represents clients in divorce, legal separation, child custody, parenting time, child support, alimony, and equitable distribution. His work includes high-asset divorce matters and disputes involving fathers’ rights, with an approach that uses negotiation, litigation, and mediation depending on the needs of the case.

Aretsky earned a J.D. from New York Law School and a B.A. from Fordham University. After law school, he clerked for Judge Conrad W. Krafte in the Family Part of the New Jersey Superior Court in Bergen County. His education and clerkship provided direct exposure to family court procedure, judicial decision-making, and the financial and parenting issues that arise in matrimonial disputes.

Aretsky handles contested and negotiated family law matters involving parenting arrangements, spousal support, child support, and division of marital property. He is a court-approved divorce and family law mediator and appears on the New Jersey Courts roster for economic mediation in Bergen County. His practice includes municipal criminal defense and personal injury matters, adding broader negotiation and litigation experience to his family law work.
