Jennell C. Bilek

Jennell C. Bilek is a shareholder at Carlson, Caspers, Vandenburgh & Lindquist, P.A., who advises clients on intellectual property law and related legal matters. Her work includes patent, trademark, and trade secret disputes, contract matters, and life sciences issues. She represents plaintiffs and defendants in federal courts and before the USPTO. Her practice also covers regulatory compliance for drug, pharmacy, and veterinary businesses, patent and exclusivity assessments, drug supply chain issues, labeling disputes, antitrust concerns, contract negotiation, and patent opinions.

Jennell earned a J.D., cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law, where she served as Assistant Editor of the William Mitchell Law Review and Editor-in-Chief of Cybaris. She earned a Ph.D. in Social & Administrative Pharmacy and a Pharm.D. from the University of Minnesota. She also received a B.S. in Journalism, with distinction, from Iowa State University.

Jennell brings extensive scientific and pharmaceutical experience to her legal work. Her background includes medicinal chemistry and immunology laboratory research, medical device research, service as deputy director for the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy, community pharmacy work, and pharmacy benefit management consulting. She has also worked on matters involving anti-kickback and misbranding statutes, False Claims Act disputes, trade secret claims, and antitrust issues. Her multidisciplinary experience helps her evaluate technical and regulatory questions in complex disputes.

Jennell C. Bilek is admitted before the Minnesota Supreme Court, the US District Court for the District of Minnesota, and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She is an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy and directs its Law in Pharmacy Practice course. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota and has held leadership roles with the American Society for Pharmacy Law.
