Jeffrey W. Puryear is a seasoned Arkansas trial attorney who focuses exclusively on litigation. He represents individuals, businesses, and professionals in complex disputes across state and federal courts. His practice includes construction claims, commercial conflicts, medical malpractice defense, trucking litigation, products liability suits, insurance disputes, and personal injury actions.
Jeff began his academic path at Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, AR, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1990. He then attended the University of Arkansas, Leflar Law Center, Fayetteville, AR, 1993, where he received his J.D., With Honors. During law school, he served as a Moot Court Member and was Articles Editor of the Arkansas Law Review, 1992 – 1993.
Jeff handles a wide range of contested matters, guiding clients through every phase of trial. He has tried numerous jury and non-jury cases and is known for clear strategy and steady courtroom advocacy. His work often involves contract disputes, business torts, franchise disagreements, and high-stakes injury claims involving serious damages.
Jeff has earned recognition for both skill and service. He was named a Mid-South Super Lawyer from 2009 through 2020 and received the 2010 Craighead County, Arkansas, Volunteer Lawyer for the Elderly honor. He also serves as an Arkansas faculty member for the National Conference of Bar Examiners and has been selected for membership in the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel and the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Jeffrey W. Puryear was admitted to practice in Arkansas in 1993, before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, continuing his commitment to strong client advocacy. Jeff stays active in the legal community through leadership and education. He serves on the Construction Law Committee of the Arkansas Bar Association and previously led the Craighead County Bar Association as President in 2011. He frequently presents CLE seminars on professionalism, trial practice, and civil procedure, sharing practical guidance with fellow attorneys.
