Michelle Holmes is the founder of Holmes Law Offices in Waterbury, Connecticut, where she has represented clients since 2005. With more than twenty-five years of experience, she handles civil litigation, employment law, business disputes, and family law matters. She is known for her strong courtroom skills and clear legal strategy. Ms. Holmes represents individuals who have faced workplace discrimination, retaliation, wrongful accusations, and serious legal challenges in both state and federal courts.

Michelle N. Holmes earned her J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law. She received her B.S. from Central Connecticut State University. She was admitted to practice in Connecticut in 1998. She is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Early in her career, she clerked and worked with respected civil rights and municipal defense attorneys, strengthening her litigation and trial experience.

Ms. Holmes has taken numerous cases to trial in Connecticut Superior Courts and has appeared before the Connecticut Supreme Court and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals throughout her career. She represents whistleblowers and advocates for First Amendment rights. She also litigates trade secret disputes and complex business matters. In addition, she negotiates severance agreements and provides legal counsel to growing businesses seeking guidance and protection.

Michelle Holmes regularly represents clients before the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and in unemployment appeals. She also handles mediation and arbitration proceedings. Her experience on both plaintiff and defense matters allows her to approach each case with balance and insight. Through detailed preparation and determined advocacy, she works to secure fair resolutions and protect the rights of every client she represents.
