Jeffrey S. Sloan

Jeffrey S. Sloan is the Managing Shareholder of Workplace Legal and an employment lawyer serving executives, professionals, and businesses. His work covers complex labor, employment, and HR matters for organizations ranging from large companies to technology, construction, restaurant, law firm, airline, and medical businesses. He counsels clients on workplace compliance, employee relations, wage and hour concerns, leave issues, discipline, performance management, and termination strategies, with a strong focus on resolving problems before litigation develops.

Sloan earned an A.B. from Stanford University, a J.D. from UCLA School of Law, and an M.M.H. from Cornell University. His legal and management education supports a practice that blends employment law analysis with a practical understanding of organizational operations. That background helps him evaluate workplace policies, compensation issues, employee classifications, and internal decision-making while giving clients clear guidance on legal risk, documentation, and compliance responsibilities.

Sloan has represented employers in preventive counseling and complex workplace matters, including wage and hour audits, employee reclassification projects, disability and privacy issues, performance improvement plans, and separation agreements. Before founding Workplace Legal, he was an Equity Partner in the Labor & Employment Law Group at Sheppard Mullin LLP, a co-founder and managing partner of Sloan Pratt LLP, and an associate in Heller Ehrman LLP’s litigation practice.

Jeffrey S. Sloan is admitted in California, New York, and Washington, D.C.
