Jeffrey H. Verbin

Jeffrey H. Verbin is a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig, LLP and advises clients in financial services, real estate, corporate, and sports and entertainment law matters. He brings more than 45 years of legal experience to transactions involving acquisitions, financing, lending, workouts, and business operations. He has represented investor and ownership groups in professional sports franchise and facility acquisitions, along with clients in hotel transactions. His practice combines transactional knowledge with guidance for businesses, financial institutions, investors, and industry participants.

Jeffrey earned his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 1974, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as Comments Editor of the Washington University Law Quarterly. He earned his B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1971. He is admitted to practice in Arizona, California, and Illinois, supporting a multistate business, finance, and real estate practice for clients.

Jeffrey has represented new ownership groups in professional sports franchise acquisitions, including the Minnesota Vikings, and has advised professional athletes and coaches on business matters. He has also represented national restaurant franchisors and franchisees in multistate financing transactions, clients in hotel acquisitions, and financial institutions in formation and acquisition matters. His experience includes large loan workouts, restructurings, regulated-industry matters, commercial lending, and financial institution regulatory issues for diverse commercial clients.

Jeffrey H. Verbin has earned recognition from Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America, Southwest Super Lawyers, and other legal and business publications. His honors include Best Lawyers’ Phoenix Banking and Finance Lawyer of the Year award and selection among Arizona’s top lawyers. He is a Fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers and has held leadership roles in business law, finance, community, and professional organizations throughout Arizona.
