Jeffrey D. Honeywell

Jeffrey D. Honeywell is an Albany education lawyer and Senior Counsel at Honeywell Law Firm. He focuses on education law, labor and employment, construction law, and civil litigation. He represents public employers, including school districts, in employee and student discipline matters, board policies, personnel training, and workplace disputes. His work covers collective bargaining, mediation, fact finding, arbitration, administrative proceedings, and day-to-day legal guidance for public and private employers.

Jeffrey earned his J.D., cum laude, from Albany Law School of Union University and his B.A., magna cum laude, from St. Lawrence University. His education supports the research, writing, and advocacy required in education, employment, construction, and public-sector matters. He is admitted in New York and before the US Supreme Court, Second Circuit, and US District Court for the Northern District of New York.

Jeffrey has significant experience in construction litigation, arbitration, and commercial contract matters involving public owners, contractors, architects, and construction managers. He advises school districts and municipalities on competitive bidding requirements for construction and purchasing contracts. Before founding Honeywell Law Firm, he spent more than 25 years in private practice in the Capital District. He served as a US Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps Captain and litigated more than 150 trials and administrative proceedings.
