Jed W. Manwaring is Of Counsel at Elam & Burke, where he brings nearly four decades of litigation experience. His practice focuses on bankruptcy, product liability defense, commercial litigation, and real property disputes.
Mr. Manwaring has represented creditors and trustees in complex bankruptcy cases, uncovering hidden assets and handling collections, while also defending insured parties in title insurance disputes and product liability matters. His ability to manage intricate business and financial conflicts has earned him recognition across Idaho’s legal community.
Mr. Manwaring received his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Brigham Young University in 1978 and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1982. Following graduation, he clerked for Honorable Robert E. Bakes at the Idaho Supreme Court from 1983 to 1985, gaining invaluable appellate experience. He has since established a reputation as a highly effective litigator, handling numerous reported cases in the Idaho Bankruptcy Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Throughout his career, Mr. Manwaring has been honored with Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating and Client Champion Review Rating. He has also been recognized in Mountain States Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers 2025. In addition, he has lectured widely, presenting on topics such as collections, bankruptcy considerations for creditors, and title insurance claims. His background as a former special deputy attorney general for Idaho further reflects his breadth of legal service.
Beyond his legal practice, Jed W. Manwaring is actively involved in his community, having dedicated more than twenty years to the Boy Scouts of America and Little League Baseball.
