About
Jean E. Faure is a Montana civil trial attorney with more than 35 years of experience in labor and employment law, education law, and complex civil litigation. She represents public and private employers in disputes involving wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour claims, trade secrets, non-compete issues, and leave laws. Her practice also includes traditional labor matters such as union organizing campaigns, grievance arbitration, collective bargaining, and unfair labor practice defense before courts, agencies, and arbitration panels statewide.
Jean earned her J.D., with high honors, from the University of Montana School of Law. She also holds a B.S. from the University of Montana. During law school, she served on the editorial board of the Montana Law Review, co-authored a law review article, and received recognition, including the Outstanding Law Student honor and the Dean’s Award. Her education provided a strong foundation in legal writing, litigation strategy, and employment law analysis that continues to shape her practice.
Throughout her career, Jean has defended employers in a wide range of labor and employment disputes. Her work includes litigation involving wrongful discharge, workplace discrimination, harassment claims, wage and hour disputes, trade secret issues, and school district employment matters. She also advises employers on internal investigations, policy development, employment agreements, and compliance issues. By combining rigorous preparation with practical judgment, she helps clients prevent disputes when possible and defend claims effectively when litigation or formal proceedings cannot be avoided.
Following law school, Jean E. Faure clerked for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and for the Honorable Judge David R. Thompson, later serving as a Civil Motions Attorney for the Ninth Circuit. She then returned to Montana, where she has practiced statewide since 1988. Jean is admitted in Montana, several federal courts, and the Ninth Circuit. She is widely recognized for professionalism, leadership, and mentoring, and continues to serve the legal profession through teaching, speaking, and service roles across Montana.
