About
Jayna Cox is an associate attorney in Norman, Oklahoma, practicing family law and civil litigation. She helps clients navigate domestic matters and other legal disputes that require clear advice and practical problem-solving. Jayna understands that many people seek legal representation during stressful periods when court procedures are unfamiliar. She works to identify the issues affecting each matter and help clients evaluate the choices available as their case moves through the legal system.
Jayna earned a B.S. from Oklahoma State University in 2016, studying General Business and Health Promotion. She later received her J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2019. She made the Dean’s Honor Roll at the University of Oklahoma College of Law and served as a student legal intern in its legal clinic. Her combined business and legal education supports her ability to analyze disputes, explain procedural steps, and consider the practical consequences of different legal choices. That preparation also complements her experience in matters involving financial concerns and personal relationships.
Before focusing on family law and civil litigation, Jayna worked in private tax resolution practice from 2019 to 2022. As a tax attorney, she assisted individuals and small businesses facing IRS tax controversy matters. That work required her to understand the concerns clients brought to a complicated administrative process and help them navigate it. Her experience spans two different kinds of client concerns: family disputes and controversies involving federal tax authorities. Her current practice draws on that experience as she assists people confronting domestic disputes and the challenges of court proceedings.
Jayna Cox brings experience in both client-focused tax representation and Oklahoma civil matters. She is admitted to practice in Oklahoma and before the U.S. Tax Court, and she belongs to the Oklahoma Bar Association. She served as IgniteOKC Speaker Chair Elect and Board Member from 2020 to 2021, then as Speaker Chair from 2021 to 2022. Her experience with tax controversy and domestic disputes informs a practical approach to clients’ legal concerns.
