Jason W. Burge

Jason W. Burge is a litigation lawyer and partner at Fishman Haygood L.L.P., representing investors, borrowers, institutions, and businesses in complex financial lawsuits and disputes. He handles securities fraud, lender liability, class actions, bankruptcy litigation, real estate disputes, tax matters, and appellate proceedings. His economics background helps him explain complicated financial transactions to judges, arbitrators, and juries. He manages cases involving statutory violations, contract breaches, fiduciary misconduct, misrepresentation, and fraud. His representation spans investigations, trials, and appeals in state and federal courts nationwide with careful preparation.

Jason earned a B.A. in Political Science, magna cum laude, from The Ohio State University in 2000. He received a B.M. in Music Composition, summa cum laude, from Loyola University New Orleans in 2003. He completed his J.D., magna cum laude, at New York University School of Law in 2006, where he joined the Order of the Coif. He then clerked for Judge Jerry E. Smith of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit from 2006 to 2007.

Jason has recognition that reflects experience in financial and appellate litigation. Chambers USA ranked him in Band 1 for Litigation: Mainly Plaintiffs in 2026 and Band 2 for appellate litigation in 2025 and 2026. He remains admitted in Louisiana and Texas, the U.S. Supreme Court, federal district courts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
