About

Jason Fortenberry is a partner in the Jackson office of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP, where he concentrates his practice on commercial litigation with an emphasis on intellectual property, real estate disputes, land use, and zoning law. He regularly represents clients in trademark infringement, trade secret misappropriation, receiverships, foreclosures, and complex property disputes. He also advises on cannabis industry matters, particularly zoning and land use issues tied to Mississippi’s Medical Cannabis program.

Fortenberry earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Mississippi College School of Law in 2006 and a B.A. from Mississippi State University in 1997. Licensed to practice in Mississippi, he is also admitted to the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi and the Mississippi Supreme Court. His education and admissions support a practice that extends across state and federal courts.

Fortenberry has successfully represented a broad range of clients in litigation, arbitration, and limited transactional matters. His experience includes obtaining defense verdicts in multimillion-dollar construction defect cases, securing summary judgments in products liability and employment actions, and resolving high-value environmental disputes. He also has represented clients in major commercial property acquisitions and negotiations involving complex zoning and setback issues. His work reflects both depth and versatility in litigation and advisory roles.

In addition to his legal practice, Jason Fortenberry is active in professional and community organizations. He has served on the board of the I.S. Sanders YMCA in Jackson and the Capital Area Bar Association. He also provides pro bono representation through the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project.
