Jason Ferreira

Jason Ferreira is an attorney at McCormick, Fitzpatrick, Kasper & Buchard, P.C. Jason represents employers, insurance carriers, and third-party claim administrators in Vermont workers’ compensation matters. His work includes administering claims, pursuing closure, and handling litigation. He represents clients in formal Department of Labor hearings and appeals to Superior Court and the Vermont Supreme Court, connecting claims management with representation in contested proceedings.

Jason received his B.A. from the University of Vermont in 1995 and his J.D. from Vermont Law School in 1999. He was admitted to practice in Vermont in 2000. During his early legal training, he interned with U.S. Magistrate Judge Jerome Neidermeier in the District of Vermont. His education and court experience support the research and preparation required in workers’ compensation defense.

Jason served as a Chittenden County Deputy State’s Attorney from 2000 to 2002. His current areas of practice include Workers’ Compensation Defense and Civil Litigation. For employers and claims professionals, his work spans the administration of an initial claim, consideration of closure, and litigation when issues remain disputed. His experience therefore covers both the practical handling of claims and the formal process for deciding contested matters.

Jason was named the 2018 Burlington Lawyer of the Year for Workers’ Compensation Law – Employers by Best Lawyers.
