Michael D. Corey

Michael D. Corey is Of Counsel at Jermain, Dunnagan & Owens, P.C. in Anchorage. He has extensive experience litigating complex insurance law, product liability, and personal injury claims and has defended individuals, corporations, and governmental entities since 1985. Mike also serves as a mediator and has resolved disputes in that capacity since 2019. His practice draws on decades of civil litigation and judicial experience in Alaska state and federal matters.

Michael earned a J.D. from the University of San Diego in 1985 and a B.A. from the University of Colorado in 1982. His legal education was followed by a career that has included private practice, judicial service, and dispute resolution. That combination supports his ability to evaluate evidence, assess litigation risks, and understand how civil claims develop from filing through trial, appeal, settlement, or mediated resolution.

Michael has litigated and tried cases throughout Alaska, with much of his work focused on defending civil claims. He has also represented individuals pursuing personal injury claims and insurance carriers handling subrogation matters in California, Florida, South Carolina, and Texas. In addition, he spent more than four years as an Anchorage Superior Court Judge managing both civil and criminal dockets, experience that adds a judicial perspective to his litigation and mediation work.
