Janis E. Clements represents Fortune 500 companies, manufacturers, and retailers in complex commercial litigation, class action defense, antitrust matters, and business disputes. With more than two decades of trial experience across Texas, she advises clients in high-stakes cases involving regulatory exposure, financial risk, and multifaceted litigation strategy.

Janis earned her Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1991. She also holds a Master of Arts in Biology, with high honors, from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Christian University, providing a multidisciplinary foundation for complex legal and technical matters.

Janis is an experienced litigator who regularly tries cases in state and federal courts throughout Texas. Her practice includes commercial disputes, labor and employment defense litigation, antitrust claims, breach-of-contract actions, bankruptcy-related litigation, and complex tort matters. Clients rely on her strategic judgment and practical courtroom experience.

Janis is also a key member of her firm’s interdisciplinary eDiscovery & eRetention team. She regularly uses artificial intelligence and advanced legal technology to streamline eDiscovery processes and manage large-scale discovery projects. Her work includes overseeing complex eDiscovery efforts in antitrust cases, SEC investigations, and employment and contract disputes.

In addition, Janis is a registered patent attorney, enabling her to integrate intellectual property insights into litigation involving technology, innovation, and competition. Her capabilities extend to intellectual property litigation, competition regulation, and technology-driven disputes.

Janis E. Clements’ background includes extensive in-house and government experience, including roles as vice president of government and regulatory affairs, outside counsel to a global technology company, and trial attorney for the Texas Attorney General’s Office. She remains active in East Texas legal organizations and is consistently recognized for excellence, including selection to The Best Lawyers in America for Litigation – Patent.
