About
Janet Rafferty is a skilled personal injury lawyer who works hard to help clients through some of the most difficult times in their lives. Her legal background includes experience in criminal prosecution and compliance, giving her a well-rounded view of the law. She has a strong focus on helping people recover and rebuild.
Janet earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Justice Studies from Kent State University. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the Duquesne University Kline School of Law, where she concentrated in Civil Litigation. While in law school, she served as a Senior Staff Editor for the Duquesne Law Review and earned recognition for her oral advocacy skills.
Janet began her legal career as a law clerk before advancing to a paralegal role, building a strong foundation in legal research and client service. Early on, she gained hands-on experience helping clients through the Unemployment Compensation Clinic. Before transitioning to private practice, Janet expanded her background in both public and corporate law by working in legal compliance for a Pittsburgh-based company and serving in the Beaver County District Attorney’s Office.
Throughout her career, Janet has used her knowledge and dedication to support people facing serious injuries and life-altering events. She is known for her compassionate approach, guiding clients through complex legal matters with care and persistence. Her focus remains on helping people secure fair compensation and move forward after accidents.
Attorney Janet is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, and Allegheny County Bar Association. Within the county Bar, she takes part in both the Young Lawyers Division and the Women in the Law Division.
Janet Rafferty also gives back to the community by coaching high school students in the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Mock Trial Competition and volunteers as a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of the USA. Janet continues to use her skills to make a difference, both inside and outside the courtroom.
