About

Jana Davis Lamanna is a Memphis lawyer with more than 21 years of experience in fertility law, probate, estate planning, family law, and employment matters. Her practice includes assisted reproductive technology, probate administration, probate and trust litigation, divorce, guardianships, and conservatorships. She advises intended parents and gestational carriers on surrogacy arrangements and helps families address legal issues involving donated embryos, eggs, and sperm. Her work combines transactional planning with litigation and court-based advocacy.

Lamanna earned her J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law after spending one year as a visiting student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She received an M.B.A. from Christian Brothers University and a B.A. in English from the University of Mississippi. Her education supports her work involving complex family, probate, business, and fertility-related legal issues.

Lamanna assists intended parents with surrogacy agreements, donor agreements, parentage proceedings, birth certificates, and passports for newborns. She works with individuals and couples, including LGBTQ clients, seeking to form families through assisted reproduction. Her practice extends to estate planning for embryos and disputes involving probate, trusts, estates, and fiduciary responsibilities. She has presented continuing legal education programs on IVF, embryo disposition, surrogacy, adoption, and the intersection of probate and family law.
