James M. Cool is a seasoned litigator and trial attorney who represents individuals, families, and closely held businesses in complex disputes. His work centers on serious or catastrophic personal injuries, commercial conflicts between small companies, regulatory actions, and matters involving the rights of public employees. James earned his Bachelor of Arts, English Education from the University of Arizona. He then received his Juris Doctor from Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, Arizona State University. During law school, he distinguished himself through advocacy and scholarship. He was named to the Order of the Barristers and earned recognition as “Most Outstanding” Oral Advocate (Class of 2010). He also won the Jenckes Cup Closing Argument Competition (2009) and the Oplinger Closing Argument Competition (2008 and 2009).

James’ practice is driven by preparation and attention to detail. He carefully analyzes technical, financial, and medical issues so that arguments are clear and persuasive. In addition to trial work, he serves as a neutral mediator in personal injury and business disputes involving small companies, offering both hourly and flat fee arrangements.
