James H. Marshall serves as managing partner of Marshall Brown LLP and co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate Leasing Group. His practice focuses on commercial real estate development, where he represents both developers and institutional investors in a wide range of transactions across the nation. His work includes acquisition, disposition, leasing, financing, restructuring, and entitlement of commercial real estate projects.

Mr. Marshall earned his Juris Doctor cum laude from Northwestern University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and serves as an editorial board member of Commercial Leasing Law & Strategy, where he has authored numerous articles on commercial leasing and transactional structuring.

With a deep understanding of the real estate development process, Mr. Marshall regularly advises clients on vertical mixed-use developments, industrial warehouses, lifestyle and power centers, student and senior housing, office buildings, and high-rise residential condominiums.
