James D. Urrutia

James D. Urrutia, Esq., is the owner and lead trial attorney at The LJU Law Firm, a Las Vegas practice devoted to personal injury and civil rights cases. As a seasoned litigator, James has built his career on the belief that every client deserves a champion who will stand by them in their time of need. Early in his legal career, he discovered his calling in contingency fee work—helping injured clients and civil rights victims seek fair compensation without the burden of hourly fees. This commitment to accessible justice shaped his decision to launch The LJU Law Firm.

James earned his J.D. from BYU Law School in 2011. His legal education, combined with his strong sense of economic fairness and community service, laid the foundation for a practice built on results and compassion. Today, clients turn to James for his deep knowledge of trial law, his tenacity in the courtroom, and his unwavering dedication to getting people the care and compensation they deserve.

At The LJU Law Firm, James represents clients in a broad range of personal injury cases, including car accidents, motorcycle accidents, slip and fall injuries, product liability claims, catastrophic injuries, and complex conditions such as CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome). His results include a $12.1 million settlement for a widow in a highly complex, international product liability case.
