James Atkinson “Chip” Bruorton IV serves as the Managing Member of Rosen Hagood and has dedicated over twenty years to practicing law with the firm. His litigation experience spans a range of areas, including employment, construction, government, and catastrophic injury matters. In 2015, he secured the largest verdict in the firm’s history—a $53.5 million judgment in a fiduciary duty case—one of the top verdicts nationally that year.
James earned his B.S. in Financial Management from Clemson University in 2000 and his J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2003. Since then, James Bruorton has built a distinguished practice representing contractors, architects, developers, subcontractors, and municipalities in complex construction disputes. His work covers mechanics’ liens, bond claims, defect litigation, indemnity actions, and general counsel services for contractors and local governments.
James also represents individuals and families in wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases, including those arising from construction accidents, trucking collisions, and premises liability.
