Jacqueline F. Barbara

Jacqueline F. Barbara is a principal at Cohen and Wolf, P.C., where she has focused exclusively on family law since 1991. She represents clients in matters involving divorce, custody, visitation, child support, and post-judgment proceedings. With over three decades of practice, she brings both litigation skills and practical solutions to guide clients through the complexities of family disputes. Known for her responsiveness and individualized approach, she tailors strategies to meet each client’s unique needs.

Jacqueline earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics, cum laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1989. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 1991. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut, New York, the U.S. District Court, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

In addition to litigation, Jacqueline provides mediation services for families seeking to resolve disputes outside of court. She guides parties through the legal process and helps them reach fair, practical agreements in the best interests of their families. She also frequently serves the courts as a Special Master, Guardian Ad Litem, and Attorney for Minor Children, assisting in cases involving custody and visitation.

Before joining Cohen and Wolf, Jacqueline F. Barbara spent more than 25 years as a partner in a boutique family law firm serving clients across Fairfield and New Haven Counties.
