Richard D. Zeisler

Richard D. Zeisler, a Partner at ZNC Law, has practiced law in Connecticut since 1963, with a focus on bankruptcy, reorganizations, financial restructuring, and complex litigation. He has also handled estates, matrimonial disputes, business torts, and contract matters. Known for his diligence, knowledge, and practical approach, Richard has built a trusted reputation across many civil practice areas.

Richard earned his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in 1959 before completing his LL.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1963. That same year, he was admitted to the Connecticut Bar and to the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, marking the beginning of a distinguished career that spans more than sixty years.

For over two decades, Richard has been listed in Best Lawyers in America for bankruptcy and reorganization and recognized by Super Lawyers for excellence in the same field. He has also served as President of the Bridgeport Bar Association and as an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac University School of Law, where he mentors future generations of attorneys.

Richard has litigated cases in state and federal courts and argued appeals before the Connecticut Supreme Court. He is especially noted for filing Connecticut’s landmark Chapter 9 bankruptcy case for the City of Bridgeport. Additionally, he has authored articles on bankruptcy and matrimonial law, and frequently lectures at legal, business, and academic forums.
