J. Scott Bowman

J. Scott Bowman is a partner and board-certified civil trial lawyer at GB Law in Columbus, Ohio. He represents individuals and families in personal injury and wrongful death matters involving motor vehicle crashes, trucking accidents, catastrophic injuries, and other negligence claims. Bowman helps injured clients pursue compensation when another person or company is responsible for serious harm. His practice combines case preparation, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy in significant civil disputes.

Bowman earned his B.S. from Illinois State University in 1993 and his J.D. from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1998. His legal education provided a foundation in civil litigation, legal analysis, and trial advocacy. He was admitted to practice in Ohio in 1998 and is admitted to the Ohio state courts and the U.S. District Courts in the state, supporting his work on both state and federal injury matters.

Bowman has tried at least 40 cases to verdict for injured clients. His representative results include a $1.1 million settlement for a client who was crushed between a tractor and trailer and a $71,000 verdict in a motor vehicle collision where negligence and injuries were disputed. J. Scott Bowman has been board certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy since 2008 and was recertified in 2023. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and has served on the Ohio Judicial Conference’s Ohio Jury Instructions Committee, helping address negligence instructions.
