J. Michael Clemons

J. Michael Clemons is a co-founder of Clemmons & Clemons, PLLC, and a Tennessee civil litigation attorney. He represents businesses and individuals in state and federal court proceedings, including both jury and non-jury matters. His practice addresses civil rights, banking, business and contract disputes, employment law, and personal injury. He also has experience assisting Tennessee financial institutions with foreclosure matters and disputes involving contracts.

Michael received an undergraduate degree in Business Marketing from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in 1999. He earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Nashville School of Law in 2005 and was admitted to the Tennessee Bar that year. Before law school, he worked in small business sales at BellSouth. During law school, he worked with Lowery, Lowery & Cherry in Lebanon, Tennessee.

After becoming an attorney, Michael practiced with Rochelle, McCulloch & Aulds, PLLC, and later worked with Blackburn & McCune, PLLC, and Chaffin & Burnsed, PLLC. He developed litigation experience representing corporate and individual parties and handling disputes in Tennessee courts. His earlier commercial work and legal practice have given him experience with business relationships, financial institution claims, employment disagreements, and other contested civil matters.

J. Michael Clemons has been selected for the Mid-South Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in civil litigation defense, with selections beginning in 2013. He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and Nashville Bar Association. His civic service has included leadership positions with Lebanon-area community organizations. He brings an understanding of business operations and courtroom procedure to helping clients assess disputes and pursue practical legal resolutions.
