Iris started her legal career as a Deputy State Public Defender, gaining hands-on experience in criminal litigation and systemic injustice. She later practiced at two major Colorado law firms, where she deepened her focus on civil rights and criminal defense. Iris dedicated substantial time to pro bono work, spearheading a decade-long legal battle that led to a federal consent decree protecting people with mental illness held in jail.

She was also featured on the cover of Colorado Super Lawyers Magazine, highlighting her influence and dedication to justice. Her efforts have been pivotal in reshaping criminal defense standards across the country.
Iris Eytan was lead counsel in the People v. Barry Morphew case, where she exposed serious prosecutorial misconduct that resulted in the dismissal of charges. The outcome led to significant disciplinary action against several prosecutors.
