Hezekiah Sistrunk, Jr

Hezekiah Sistrunk, Jr is a National Partner and President of The Cochran Firm, founded by Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr. He also serves as Chairman of the National Firm’s Executive/Management Committee and Managing Partner of the Atlanta office. He has tried over 100 cases to verdict and, together with his trial teams, has secured verdicts and settlements totaling more than $1 billion for injury victims and consumers across the country.

Hezekiah earned a B.A. with honors from North Carolina State University and a J.D. from Duke University Law School, where he was an Elvin R. Latty Scholar. He is admitted to practice in Georgia. His academic training and legal background prepared him to manage complex litigation, including high-stakes disputes, detailed legal analysis, and demanding courtroom advocacy, in both state and federal courts.

Hezekiah’s practice focuses on complex disputes involving common law, statutory law, contract law, physician and hospital liability, product liability, and corporate and business matters. He handles catastrophic personal injury cases, class actions, mass torts, and pharmaceutical litigation. Over his career, he has prosecuted and defended hundreds of litigated matters in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies, and has also served as a mediator in hundreds of cases.

Hezekiah Sistrunk, Jr has received numerous honors, including an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and recognition in The Best Lawyers in America for Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs and Products Liability Litigation – Plaintiffs. In 2019, he was named “Lawyer of the Year” in Atlanta for Product Liability Litigation – Plaintiffs. He has also been inducted into respected legal organizations and frequently lectures on medical liability and complex litigation topics.
