Karl W. Leo is the Founder and President of Leo Law Firm, LLC, and has built a distinguished career spanning more than three decades in business and corporate law. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, business organization, finance, construction, and commercial real estate. Since establishing the firm in 1987, he has advised corporations, developers, and closely held businesses on governance and transactions, combining legal strategy with a deep understanding of business operations.

Leo earned his B.A. from the University of Redlands in 1980, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, before completing his J.D. with honors at Duke University School of Law in 1983. At Duke, he was a Parkinson Scholar and served as Editor of the Duke Law Journal. After graduation, he clerked for Chief Justice C.C. Torbert, Jr. of the Alabama Supreme Court and practiced law in Greensboro, North Carolina, before returning to Alabama to establish his own practice. He is admitted to the bars of Alabama, North Carolina, and Wisconsin.

In addition to his private practice, Leo serves as Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Director of ABC Supply Co., Inc. and Hendricks Holding Company, Inc. He is also Vice President and Director of The Westmoreland Company, Inc., a commercial real estate developer. His combined roles as corporate counsel and executive leader provide him with unique insight into governance, compliance, and strategy for national and regional businesses.

Karl W. Leo has earned Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent rating and has served on the Board of Visitors of Duke University School of Law. He is also a member of the American Arbitration Association’s Commercial and Construction Industry Panels. Recognized for both legal acumen and leadership, Leo continues to guide businesses through complex transactions while fostering growth and long-term success for his clients.
