Heidi Deifel is the founder of the Law Office of Heidi Deifel P.C., an immigration law firm serving clients throughout New Mexico. With nearly two decades of legal experience, she provides compassionate and strategic representation to immigrants and crime victims, helping them secure legal status and protect their rights.
Heidi earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2005. She also holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance & Pedagogy from Brigham Young University. She is licensed to practice law in New Mexico and Utah and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico.
Heidi’s legal background includes work as a prosecutor, criminal defense attorney, administrative law judge, and municipal court judge. Since founding her practice in 2018, she has focused on immigration law, representing clients in matters such as family petitions, humanitarian visas, removal defense, and naturalization.
Fluent in Spanish, Heidi has dedicated her career to serving immigrant communities with a deep understanding of their cultural needs and legal expertise. From early internships assisting crime victims to handling federal criminal and immigration cases in Albuquerque, she is known for her diligence and unwavering client advocacy.
Heidi is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and its Texas Chapter. She also served on the Executive Board of Directors of the New Mexico Women’s Bar Association from 2016 to 2018, reflecting her leadership within the legal community.
