About

Heather Barbieri is the founding attorney of Barbieri Law Firm in Frisco, Texas, and a nationally respected criminal defense lawyer with more than 25 years of legal experience. She is widely recognized for her strategic skill, trial excellence, and deep commitment to client advocacy.

Heather’s practice focuses on defending individuals accused of serious and complex criminal charges—including aggravated assault, drug crimes, and continuous sexual assault of a child—cases that many other attorneys shy away from.

Heather earned her J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law (1998) and her B.S. from Kansas State University (1994).

Heather began her legal career in 1998 and quickly gained recognition for her courtroom strength and fearless defense of clients. She became Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2005, and has maintained her certification through recertifications in 2010, 2015, and 2020. She is licensed to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Heather Barbieri has never lost an assault trial in 20 years—a testament to her tactical approach and mastery of defense law. She leads a collaborative legal team and created a 115-point defense checklist to ensure thorough case preparation. Her leadership extends beyond the courtroom; she served as President of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (TCDLA) and the Collin County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and is a Fellow of both the Texas Bar Foundation and the Honorable Curt B. Henderson Inn of Court.

Heather’s work has earned honors from Texas Super Lawyers®, D Magazine, and Texas Monthly. She has been consistently recognized for her excellence, advocacy, and positive impact on clients and the legal community. Her unwavering focus is to restore peace and dignity to those facing the criminal justice system.
