Gregory Watt is a Kansas City criminal defense attorney with a proven record of success in handling serious felony, misdemeanor, and DUI/DWI cases. Drawing from his background in law enforcement and courtroom prosecution, he brings powerful insight and sharp trial skills to every case he takes on, helping clients navigate tough legal challenges.
Gregory began his education with a B.F.A. from Emporia State University, followed by an M.A. from Kansas State University. He later earned his J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law, where he also served as an editor for the Tulsa Journal of International Law. During law school, he gained experience under Tulsa County District Attorney Tim Harris.
Gregory started his legal career at the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office, spending five years prosecuting violent crimes and receiving elite trial training. His experience as a prosecutor gave him a deep understanding of criminal cases, which he now uses to defend clients. He has also taught courses at Metropolitan Community College and UMKC.
Gregory holds advanced credentials in several forensic and trial techniques, including DNA analysis, DUI detection, drug recognition, and forensic drug testing. He has completed specialized training in breath testing, chromatography, and impairment evaluation. His scientific knowledge strengthens his defense strategies in complex cases.

In 2018, he became an “ACS-CHAL Forensic Lawyer-Scientist,” a title held by fewer than one hundred lawyers worldwide.
