Gerald Williams is a respected trial attorney with over 35 years of experience litigating civil rights, environmental toxic torts, sexual abuse cases, and whistleblower matters. He has consistently championed justice for individuals facing serious harm or injustice, building a reputation for legal excellence across state and federal courts.
Gerald earned his B.S. cum laude from St. Joseph’s College in 1973, followed by an M.A. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1976. In 1982, he completed his J.D. at Temple University School of Law’s Evening Division while working full-time. His academic and professional journey reflects a commitment to service and advocacy.
Gerald began his legal career as a law clerk and associate at a Philadelphia firm before co-founding several law partnerships. His notable victories include cases like Merry v. Westinghouse, which created a landmark medical monitoring remedy in Pennsylvania law.
Gerald has received repeated recognition from Martindale-Hubbell with an “AV Preeminent” rating since 1996. He has also been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer every year since 2006. In 2016, he was listed among the Nation’s Top One Percent by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel.
Gerald’s pro bono efforts are equally significant. Alongside his colleagues, he helped resolve over 900 prisoner civil rights claims, earning recognition from the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania for his dedication to justice for incarcerated individuals.
