Gerald G. Dixon is a shareholder and director at Dixon • Scholl • Carrillo • P.A., based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. With over four decades of legal experience, his practice focuses on defending professionals in liability cases, including architects, engineers, attorneys, accountants, and real estate brokers. He also handles complex commercial litigation and construction disputes. Throughout his career, Dixon has taken primary responsibility for more than 1,250 professional liability cases, earning recognition as a leader in his field.
Dixon earned his B.B.A. from Texas Tech University in 1977, where he served as president of Omicron Delta Kappa. He received his J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1981, where he was a member of The Order of Barristers and the Texas Tech Law Review, and was named Phi Delta Phi Outstanding Graduate Student, Province VII.
Dixon began his legal career in Denver, Colorado, before moving to Albuquerque, where he rose to shareholder roles at several respected law firms before co-founding his current firm. He has been admitted to practice in New Mexico, Colorado, and several federal courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. His professional affiliations include the American Bar Association, Albuquerque Bar Association (President in 1994), and the Professional Liability Committee of the New Mexico State Bar.
In addition to his legal practice, Gerald G. Dixon is a dedicated speaker and trainer on professional liability, construction law, and ethics, and he has judged numerous mock trial competitions at local, state, and national levels. His honors include Best Lawyers’ Lawyer of the Year for Professional Malpractice, the Distinguished Service Award from Texas Tech University School of Law, and Outstanding Attorney of the Year by the Albuquerque Bar Association. His dedication to both the legal profession and community service continues to define his distinguished career.
