Gary E. Mason

Gary E. Mason is a founding partner of Mason LLP and one of the nation’s most accomplished class action attorneys, with over three decades of experience representing plaintiffs in complex litigation. He has secured more than $1.5 billion in recoveries through consumer class actions, mass torts, privacy, and environmental litigation. Gary’s high-impact legal work has addressed data breaches, defective products, and environmental disasters, making him a go-to advocate for large-scale consumer protection efforts.

Gary earned his undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Brown University and his J.D. from Duke University School of Law, where he served as editor of Law & Contemporary Problems. He clerked for the Honorable Andrew J. Kleinfeld in the U.S. District Court in Anchorage, Alaska. After law school, Gary began his legal career at Skadden Arps and later became a partner at Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC, where he developed a strong reputation for excellence in class action litigation.

Throughout his career, Gary has served in lead and co-lead counsel roles in landmark cases, including Cox v. Shell Oil Co. ($950 million settlement), Hobbie v.
