Gary earned his J.D., with honors, from Drake University Law School, where he served as Managing Editor of the Drake Law Review. He earned his B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from Valparaiso University. He later earned an M.S. in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. His scientific and legal education supports a practice involving biotechnology, software, engineering, energy, environmental innovations, and other technical fields.
Gary has obtained hundreds of patents and registered trademarks for clients across diverse industries and technologies. His work has involved mechanical systems, electrical technologies, software, business methods, biotechnology, computer systems, musical instruments, energy, and environmental innovations. He has tried hundreds of jury and bench trials in state and federal courts. His background includes prior service as a criminal prosecutor and defense counsel in the US Marine Corps.
