Galen earned a B.A. from Rutgers University in 1991 and a J.D. from the University of Wyoming in 1998. His legal education prepared him for a general litigation practice that crosses civil, criminal, business, employment, family, real estate, and administrative issues. He began private practice in Idaho and Northwest Wyoming in 1998 and has practiced in Southeast Wyoming since 2004, building experience across different courts and legal settings in the region.
Galen has appeared in reported cases before the Wyoming Supreme Court, Idaho Supreme Court, and US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. His work includes appellate advocacy, civil disputes, business matters, employment issues, family law, criminal cases, and real estate matters. He uses negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and other non-litigation approaches when a dispute can be addressed without trial, giving clients more than one path for resolving difficult legal problems.
Galen Woelk is admitted in Idaho and Wyoming state and federal courts and before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association and has received a Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating. His combination of litigation, appellate, transactional, and alternative dispute resolution experience supports practical advice for clients who need objective case assessment, clear strategy, and effective advocacy in contested matters.
