About
Bryan Ulmer, III, is a partner at The Spence Law Firm who has built a national reputation for passionate advocacy, skilled negotiation, and success in the courtroom. He has represented clients in catastrophic injury, civil rights, wrongful death, medical malpractice, workplace accidents, and products liability cases, as well as complex commercial disputes, securing justice in high-stakes litigation.
Bryan graduated first in his class from the University of Wyoming College of Law, where he served as an editor of the law review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif, a prestigious honor society. He later attended Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College in 1999, where he continues to serve as a faculty member. To strengthen his negotiation skills, Bryan also completed a graduate certificate in conflict resolution through a year-long program at the University of Utah.
Throughout his career, Bryan has secured record-setting verdicts and settlements for injury victims, including a $28.5 million jury verdict in a Wyoming carbon monoxide poisoning case, a $13.6 million award for an Iowa accident victim, and numerous multimillion-dollar results in medical malpractice, wrongful death, and workplace injury cases. With total recoveries exceeding $100 million, his results showcase not only his trial experience and legal skill, but also his determination and tireless preparation on behalf of his clients.
Recognized by peers and clients alike, Bryan has earned fellowship in the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Society of Barristers, and the American Bar Foundation. He is Board Certified in both Civil Trial Law and Civil Practice Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and holds Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent rating. He has also served as President of the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association and remains active in advancing the practice of trial advocacy nationwide.
