Fred Slone

Fred Slone is Of Counsel at Crowson Law Group and has more than 35 years of litigation experience in Alaska in both civil and criminal cases,dog bites,car accidents. Slone’s practice has focused on representing individual Alaskans in disputes involving government or corporate entities. He also has extensive criminal defense experience, particularly in DUI and alcohol-related cases, and represents clients at the trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts.

Slone obtained his law degree from Albany Law School in Albany, New York in 1982 and his undergraduate degree from the University of North Dakota in 1978. He returned to Alaska after law school and began practicing in the state in 1983. His long legal career has included civil litigation, criminal defense, and sustained study of DUI law, breath testing, field sobriety testing, and the scientific and constitutional issues that frequently arise in impaired-driving cases.

Slone has represented people accused of offenses ranging from DUI to serious felonies and has handled appeals involving search and seizure, breath testing, and other criminal procedure issues. He has taught DUI defense to lawyers in Alaska and nationally and has completed specialized training involving breath alcohol testing and DUI litigation. His broader civil practice adds experience with cases in which individuals challenge government conduct, corporate actions, or other conduct that leads to substantial personal consequences.

Fred Slone is admitted to practice throughout Alaska’s state and federal trial and appellate courts and before the United States Supreme Court. Slone has been active in national and Alaska criminal defense organizations and has contributed to legal education through lectures and publications. His practice is grounded in long-term courtroom experience, close attention to evidentiary and scientific issues, and a commitment to helping individual clients understand and respond to serious civil or criminal claims.
