About

Fred I. Williams is a trial lawyer with more than 30 years of experience handling high-stakes, complex litigation. Fred earned a B.A. in Economics from Brigham Young University in 1992. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark Law School in 1995. During law school, he was a Glenn Larson Farr Scholar, served as an Articles Solicitor for the Brigham Young University Law Review, and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. His education developed the analytical and communication skills that support his complex litigation practice.

Fred prepares and tries cases before judges and juries throughout the United States. His experience includes proceedings in 33 states and the District of Columbia, as well as international disputes in Asia and Europe. He has secured significant results in patent and trade secret cases, including a unanimous $115 million jury verdict that was later reduced to $110 million. Following a new trial, a second jury returned a $222 million verdict for the plaintiffs. Before establishing his present practice, he led global intellectual property practices at Akin Gump and Vinson & Elkins.

Fred I. Williams has been selected to the Texas Super Lawyers list each year from 2014 through 2026.
