Franklin D. Cordell

Franklin D. Cordell is widely recognized for his work in insurance recovery and complex litigation. Franklin earned a B.A. from the University of Virginia and later obtained a J.D. summa cum laude from Washington & Lee University School of Law. During his time there, he served as Senior Lead Articles Editor of the Washington & Lee Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif.

Franklin began his legal career as a law clerk to the Hon. H. Emory Widener, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He later practiced in a nationally recognized insurance coverage group, building a foundation that supports his long-standing commitment to client advocacy and effective litigation strategies.

Franklin focuses on insurance coverage disputes, including bad-faith claims and complex commercial policies. His experience includes handling emerging coverage issues as well as traditional disputes.
