John D. Cadagan

John Cadagan is an experienced litigator who represents clients in state and federal courts throughout Washington. He has handled both jury and bench trials to verdict across multiple regions. His work includes appearances before trial courts as well as higher courts, where he continues to advocate for fair and efficient outcomes.

John earned his J.D., cum laude, from Gonzaga University School of Law, where he served as Editor of the Gonzaga Law Review. He also received CALI Awards for Academic Excellence and contributed as a Faculty-appointed Academic Resource Program Tutor. He completed his B.Sci. (Economics) from the University of Washington.

John focuses his legal practice on insurance coverage disputes and civil litigation matters. He regularly represents policyholders in both first- and third-party claims involving insurers. His work often involves complex property insurance matters and situations where coverage has been denied or challenged, helping clients secure appropriate legal remedies.

John also handles a wide range of civil disputes for companies, public utilities, and individuals. He has defended businesses facing high-value claims while also pursuing compensation for clients harmed by others. His experience spans cases involving significant financial stakes and varied legal complexities across different industries.

John maintains a strong appellate practice and frequently appears before state and federal appellate courts. He prepares detailed briefs and presents arguments while also advising clients and attorneys on appellate strategy. His earlier role as a law clerk to the Honorable Linda C.J. Lee provided valuable insight into judicial decision-making processes.

John Cadagan has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in insurance coverage and appellate litigation. He is admitted to practice before the Washington State Bar, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington.
