About

Evan Chadwick is a partner at Chadwick, Spensley & Fox, PLLC, where he focuses on criminal defense, DUI and traffic matters, and civil rights litigation. He represents clients across southern Vermont and works to protect their rights in complex legal situations. Evan is known for careful case analysis and strong courtroom advocacy. His work often involves challenging police conduct, defending people charged with DUI, and helping clients resolve serious legal problems with clear guidance and practical legal strategies daily.

Evan earned his B.A. in Social Science from Keene State College in 2007. His academic training focused on understanding government systems, social institutions, and the legal issues that affect communities. After completing his degree, he continued his legal training through the Vermont Legal Clerkship Program. During this time, he clerked for attorney Thomas Costello in Brattleboro, where he studied criminal law and civil rights litigation and gained hands-on experience in legal research, case preparation, and courtroom procedures and practice. He also completed a law degree from an accredited institution. He is certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) as a Field Sobriety and DUI Investigation Practitioner and Instructor.

Evan began his independent legal career in 2013 when he founded Chadwick Law LLC in Brattleboro. The firm focused on general litigation and provided legal representation to individuals facing serious legal challenges. In 2015, he partnered with attorney Robb Spensley to form Chadwick, Spensley & Fox, PLLC. The firm expanded its services and opened offices in several Vermont communities. Through this work, he has built a practice representing clients in criminal defense, civil rights claims, and traffic-related matters.

Evan Chadwick continues to focus on protecting the rights of people facing criminal charges and government misconduct. He leads the firm’s civil rights division and regularly handles police brutality claims and complex defense cases. His advanced training allows him to carefully review police procedures and evidence, helping clients challenge charges, pursue fair outcomes in court, and protect their rights.
