Evan A. Gould

Evan A. Gould is a San Diego managing attorney who represents plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation. He focuses on employment disputes and serious bodily injury claims arising from negligence. His broader litigation background includes medical malpractice, product liability, elder abuse, financial fraud, contract, construction, defamation, insurance coverage, and bad faith matters. He also advises employers on workplace policies, investigations, harassment training, severance and release agreements, and regulatory compliance.

Gould graduated from San Diego State University in 1984 and earned his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in 1987. In law school, he served as a staff writer and Notes and Comments Editor for the California Western Law Review and International Law Journal. He also participated in moot court and earlier competed on the debate team at San Diego State. This academic experience strengthened his legal writing, analysis, research, and advocacy skills.

Gould began his career defending doctors and hospitals against medical malpractice claims before spending seven years with a Los Angeles insurance defense practice. He later represented self-insured entities, retailers, construction professionals, business owners, and injury victims. This experience gave him detailed knowledge of insurance claims and defense strategy. He also serves as a mediator and arbitrator, including work on the San Diego Superior Court mediator panel and for FINRA.

Evan A. Gould is admitted in California and Colorado and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Central Districts of California. He belongs to the San Diego County Bar Association, Colorado Bar Association, Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, and California Employment Lawyers Association. He also lectures on civil litigation, employment law, risk reduction, mediation, and arbitration, while volunteering as a moot court judge and mentoring aspiring attorneys.
